Frequently asked questions
Bookings and the studio
How do I book?
Use any Book now button to book online through Fresha. You can also call or text 0416 673 727, or send a message through the contact page.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancelling within 2 hours, not attending, or arriving more than 15 minutes late may incur a fee of $40 or 50% of the booking, whichever is greater.
Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately not, as the treatment room is up a flight of stairs. Out-calls are available for selected services instead.
Waxing
Is there a minimum spend?
Yes, a $40 minimum spend applies to studio appointments. Products don't count towards it.
How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
At least 5 mm, and ideally around 1 cm. If you've been shaving, allow about four weeks of regrowth.
How should I prepare for waxing?
- Lightly exfoliate the day before.
- Don't arrive hot or sweaty, as moisture makes waxing harder and can cause irritation.
- Avoid sun or solarium tanning beforehand.
How do I look after my skin after waxing?
- Wear loose clothing after your appointment.
- Avoid exercise and sweating for 24 hours, and sun or solariums for at least 48 hours.
- Use an after-waxing lotion morning and night for the first few days.
- Start gentle exfoliation after 3 days, then every 2 days for about a week.
- Rebook at least five weeks apart and avoid shaving in between.
What hygiene practices do you follow?
- Single-use vinyl gloves for every treatment.
- Fresh linen for every client, washed with antibacterial detergent.
- Only new wax is used; it's never recycled.
- Spatulas are cleaned and stored in a sealed container.
Should I take an antihistamine before waxing?
Some people develop hives or folliculitis after waxing. If that's you, talk to your doctor about taking an antihistamine before or after your appointment.
Spray tanning
How should I prepare for a spray tan?
- Exfoliate with a mitt or loofah about 24 hours before.
- Shave at least 36 hours before, and wax 3 to 4 days before.
- Remove any existing tan thoroughly for a more even, longer-lasting result.
- Arrive freshly showered, with no deodorant, moisturiser, oil or perfume.
- Wear loose clothing, and bring something to sit on in the car if you're worried about your seats.
- Don't arrive hot or sweaty; an evening appointment is ideal on a hot day.
- Avoid IPL or laser for 2 weeks before or after a tan.
How do I look after my spray tan?
- Leave the tan on for at least 2 hours, and up to 8. The longer it's on, the longer it lasts.
- Rinse without soap, body wash or scrubbing, and pat dry.
- Avoid baths, pools, spas and sweating for 24 hours, and long showers for a few days.
- Avoid milk and dairy products on the skin for 24 hours.
- A tan-extending moisturiser helps it last.
IPL permanent hair removal
Do I need a test patch for IPL?
Yes. A consultation and test patch is needed at least 24 hours before your first treatment. It costs $40, which is credited to your first treatment if you go ahead.
How many IPL hair removal sessions will I need?
Most clients see around 80% hair reduction by their sixth treatment, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. Results vary and 100% removal can't be guaranteed.
How should I prepare for IPL?
- Shave the treatment area 24 to 48 hours beforehand.
- Let us know about any light-sensitive medication.
- Avoid sunburn, and don't wax the area beforehand.
- Arrive on time; late arrivals may need to be rescheduled.
